Burnout: A Human Condition

How many people don’t we know, if we haven’t experienced the feeling ourselves, who share symptoms of burn out? It’s a place of complete exhaustion, a feeling of being overwhelmed by the most simple task at hand. Burn out is experienced both mentally and physically. Often it’s a depressed feeling, a lack of energy, lethargy, accompanied with very low self-esteem, caused by exhausted self-destructive thoughts.

How do we navigate through and out of a burnout?

Causes of burn out can be many. Seeking help before it’s too late won’t hurt. It’s highly recommended to talk to a professional, if you experience feelings of burnout.


Finding time for oneself is often an issue, lack of it in many cases leads to exhaustion.

Difficulties in setting boundaries another.

Conflicts and tension at home or in a work environment can trigger a person to the edge.


How to prevent:

  • Say no before it’s too late.

  • Set boundaries for yourself and others.

  • Stay physically and socially active.

  • Be mindful of your sleep rhythm.

  • Take one step at a time.

  • Seek professional help.
